iPad a Failure?

First of all, I have to say, that I'm not a gadget freak. It took me a while just to realize that my friend ain't typo when I read he mentioned something about iPad.

This is a very creative movie about what people expect from iPad, and what they see..

You see, even I know Hitler wasn't talking about iPad in that video, but the subtitle is neatly arranged to make me laugh.

The iPad Review from me:
I am astoundingly disappointed that this product can't even do multi-tasking.

Time for a new cell phone

Recently, some of my friends have been complained about my cell phone. The main argument was about the "obsolete" of style, or the lack of "update" whatsoever.

Okay, some does think that using a Nokia 3220 on current date is so un-cool. The phone itself is old and, look sturdy. Well, I still using it since it still works just fine. And that's enough with me.

Personally, I don't need some monster-multimedia cellphone, nor do I need some fashion accessories. All I need is a phone that works just how it supposed to work; making calls, text messenging, wireless connection supported. That should be enough.

Oh, I do have some preference on phone that has high durability; such one that can endure unfriendly environment, water-proof, etc. Like this one for example.
Sonim XP1
I don't want to write much about it (since I won't gain any from it), but I was browsing for something in particular with my "late" Siemens *forget the series* .. which less-powerfull than this one; then I though "what the hell, just post this one instead"

iPhone 3G Phone is Coming!

Last few days, I've been bothered with this ruckus about the new Apple iPhone which is about to be launched. First of all, I need to tell you that I'm not easily afflicted or teased when it comes to gadgets. I even still got my monochrome cell-phone for my daily use. But since I've heard that this iPhone is offered in a very tempting price ($199; $299), I cross check the information, by myself.

And I found myself, astonished. No wonder this news is buzzing around so much. Because this sure is a bargain I wouldn't pass (if I had the opportunity to take it). For brief explanation, you can see what features this gadget offers you:
  • Thinner
  • Black plastic back
  • Solid metal buttons
  • (Same display & camera)
  • Flush headphone jack
  • Improved audio
  • 3G – 2.8X faster than EDGE
  • Battery life: 300 hours of standby, 2G talk-time: 10 hours, 3G talk time: 5 hours, 3G browsing: 5 to 6 hours, Video: 7 hours, Audio: 24 hours.
  • GPS support
  • The next version of Mac OS X is indeed called “Snow Leopard”
  • WPA/WPA2 Enterprise
  • 802.1x authentication
  • TypePad – Free easy blogging / photo application
  • Full iWork document support
  • Complete support for Office documents (Word, Excel, and now PowerPoint)
I wish I can have my hands on these..

Nokia announces E66 and E71

Nokia seems to have decided to do its own launch and skip Communicasia 08 by finally announcing the E66 and E71 business handsets in London last night. Both handsets are very swanky looking, both are available in black or white with a stainless steel finish.

Common features between the two handsets include HSDPA support, quad-band GSM with EDGE, A-GPS with Nokia Maps, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, IrDA, a 3.2Megapixel camera, a front camera for video calls, a 2.5mm audio/video connector, 110MB of built in memory, a microSD card memory slot and Nokia's S60 platform.

The E66 is a slider and measures 107x49x13mm (HxWxD) when closed and weighs in at 121g. It has a 2.4-inch 320x240 display, a motion sensor that will automatically switch to landscape mode when the phone is tilted and a 1,000mAh battery which Nokia claims is good for up to 11 days standby or 7.5h call time in GSM mode, or 14 days standby and 3.5h of call time in 3G mode.

The E71 has a full QWERTY keyboard and as such is a little bit larger at 114x57x10mm (HxWxD), albeit slimmer, but somewhat heavier at 126g. It has a 2.36-inch display with the same 320x240 resolution and it comes with two customizable home screens for business and personal mode. The E71 has a higher capacity battery at 1,500mAh and Nokia claims it's good for up to 17 days of standby or 10.5h of calls in GSM mode and 20 days standby or 4h of calls in 3G mode.

Both handsets will be available sometime in Q3 this year, which starts next month, although no exact date was given. Both models are expected to cost around the €300-350 mark without network subsidies.
